People-search & data-broker removal

Make your name quiet.

Your address, phone number and relatives are listed on sites you've never heard of. Quietname files the opt-outs for you, keeps a dated proof record for every site, and quietly checks back, so your name stays where it belongs: with you.

The noise

Your name is louder online than you think.

It's for sale

People-search sites assemble profiles from public records and purchased data, then sell them to anyone who types your name.

It comes back

Remove a listing once and it often reappears when the site buys a fresh batch of data. Removal is a habit, not an event.

It's tedious to fix

Every site has its own form, email loop or phone check, and some families of sites share one. Doing it well takes hours, then more hours.

How it works

Four calm steps. Then we keep watch.

i.

Scan

Give us your name, city and state. You get a checklist of every site we cover, with a direct search link for each.

ii.

Authorize

Sign a limited authorized-agent form so we can file in your name. Revoke it whenever you like.

iii.

We file

We submit opt-outs site by site, grouped by broker family, so one suppression can clear several sites at once.

iv.

Proof, then re-checks

Every change gets a proof record. We re-check every 90 days and re-file anything that resurfaces.

Proof, not promises

A count of requests isn't the same as quiet.

Independent testing has found wide gaps between what removal services report and what actually comes down. So instead of a number, we show you the evidence for every site, including the ones still pending or that refused.

What you usually get

  • “We sent 400+ removal requests”
  • A progress bar
  • No way to check what happened at a given site

What Quietname shows

  • Status per site: found, filed, awaiting, removed, re-listed
  • Dated before/after screenshots and confirmation IDs
  • A hash chain you can verify, so records can't be quietly edited

California DROP

DROP is free, and you should use it. Here's where it stops.

California's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform sends one deletion request to every data broker registered with the state. It's a real step forward, and it leaves gaps that people-search listings live in.

Californians only

Residency is verified by the state. Everyone else, about 88% of the US, has no equivalent yet.

Registered brokers only

Sites that aren't on the state's registry never see a DROP request.

Public-record exemptions

Brokers may keep public-record data, which is much of what people-search sites display. DROP doesn't do custom removals.

How Quietname works with DROP →

Coverage

31 sites in 24 broker families, done properly.

We'd rather cover the sites that actually show up when someone searches your name, and cover them well, than claim hundreds we can't prove.

Questions

Plain answers.

All questions →

Can you guarantee my information will be removed?

No, and be wary of anyone who does. Some sites refuse requests from agents, some re-list people after buying fresh data, and some information is public record. That's why we show the status and evidence for each site, including the ones that are still pending or that refused.

Is the free scan real?

The search links and opt-out links are real: each one opens the site's own pages so you can check for yourself. At this stage the “likely listed” column is simulated and clearly labeled as such. When you buy a pass or subscribe, a person (and, over time, automation) searches each site for you.

What is an authorized agent?

Several state privacy laws, including California's, let you name someone to submit privacy requests for you. You sign a consent form in your account, and you can revoke it anytime. Some sites may still contact you directly to confirm.

I'm in California. Should I just use DROP?

Use DROP; it's free and it reaches every registered data broker. But it only covers registered brokers, brokers can claim exemptions for public-record data (much of what people-search sites show), and it doesn't do custom removals or show you proof. We help you set it up and then chase what it leaves behind.
